The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has selected who the first-round winning suppliers are in its durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) program. CMS said thanks to their low bids, Medicare beneficiaries will pay on average 26% less than their current fee schedule for 10 product categories. The first round covered the following cities: Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Kansas City, Miami, Orlando, Pittsburg, Riverside, and San Juan. DMEPOS suppliers are now being notified and asked to sign a contract before CMS announces their names to the public.
