Vyvanse approved to treat adults with ADHD
Shire plc's Vyvanse can now be treated not only among children but also adults.

Approved in July 2007 to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in kids six to 12 years of age, Shire plc's Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine dimesylate)is now cleared for adults as well. Shire said this makes the product the first and only once-daily prodrug stimulant approved to treat adults with ADHD. The company added that new dosage strengths of 20 mg, 40 mg, and 60 mg will be available this summer.
