Treximet, a sumatriptan and naproxen combination treatment, approved for migraine Acute migrane sufferers will now have a new option for treatment with a newly approved combination therapy from GlaxkSmithKline. Treximet was granted an FDA approval for treatment of the condition in adults with an acute migraine with or without aura. Each Treximet tablet will contain 85 mg sumatriptan and 500 mg naproxen sodium. The new combination was studied in more than 3,700 patients and during clinical trials provided a significantly greater percentage of patients with pain relief at two hours compared with sumatriptan and naproxen alone.
