To submit an article for our review and publication, you must send us copy that is not commercial or promotional in nature and that has not been published elsewhere.

There are several places in our magazine where your article may be used. One example is as a regular news story, such as coverage of a clinical meeting. Freelancers who are covering a meeting can contact the Editor first to see if we have any interest in obtaining coverage of the event.

Another place where your article may be used is as a two-page Special Report in our magazine. These articles, which fit into our newsmagazine format, tend to deal with trends in pharmacy. They should be about 2,000 words in length. They can consist of a main article with some sidebars. A photo of the author is suggested. Check with the Editor before submitting.

Then there is a column in our magazine called "Viewpoint," which consists of guest editorials written by pharmacists who have strong views on a given pharmacy-related subject. These commentaries should be 750-1,000 words long, and should be accompanied by a photo of the author. (Either black and white or color is acceptable.)

Finally, you can express your views in the form of a letter. Our magazine has a Letters to the Editor column. Letters should be as brief as possible and sent with the writer's name, address, daytime phone number, and date of the issue you are referencing to:

We provide payment only for articles we have commissioned. There is no remuneration for submissions, such as Viewpoint.

We are a newsmagazine, not a peer-reviewed journal. So if your article is a scholarly paper on a highly technical subject, accompanied by footnotes and citations, it may not be appropriate for our publication.
