How would you like to meet and work with fellow pharmacy professionals from nations around the globe?

If you want to learn more about international approaches to pharmacy practice this summer, book a trip to Argentina, where the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) will be holding its 76th World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Buenos Aires, August 28-September 1.

    A world-wide organization

Founded in 1912, FIP is the global body representing pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. It is connected with 137 national organizations and academic institutions, and represents more than three million pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists around the world.

At the 2016 World Congress, practitioners, researchers, and academics from all over the world will address the question of how to work toward the best possible pharmacy practice, one that is evidence-driven and based on pharmaceutical sciences.

    At the conference

During the 2016 sessions, pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists will address the challenges and opportunities connected with reduction of the global disease burden.

Sessions will be broken down by target audience and will include groups with a special interest in community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, and emergency practice, to name just a few.

    The location

This year, the Congress will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina's cosmopolitan capital, known for its European atmosphere, passionate devotion to the art of tango, sophisticated culture, and vibrant nightlife.

The city is the gateway to South America, a part of the world rich in plains, vineyards, jungles, and great rivers.

    Professional enrichment

Having now attended four FIP Congresses, I can attest to the amazing opportunities for professional growth, networking, and improvement to the world of pharmacy practice.

First-timers will be able to meet experienced Congress participants, as well as representatives from FIP sections and special interest groups. There will be many opportunities to exchange ideas, meet interesting people, and become involved in FIP's global network and the vast array of projects it has to offer.

It's not too early to start making travel plans. To see what else this year's FIP congress has to offer, visit www.fip.org/buenosaires2016. I hope to see you there!
